As far as I know, the main troubles with Duratec for high RPM are: 1. Crank 2.oil pump. Cosworth build 2.3L engine with a stock crank and oil pump up to 7700-7800 RPM. This should mean 7700-7800 should be good for 2.3 oil pump and crank. This can imply that 2.0 stock crank can rev up to a higher limit until either the oil pump or the crank fails.
